Ava has a clogged tear duct! Sooo there is not much you can do except massage it with a warm wash clothe and wait for her to get bigger so the duct gets bigger and the clogging-ness moves through. Anyways, I was reading about it and it said wind and too much sun can aggravate it, so we've been looking for sun glasses to help a sister out. Plus we don't want to stop our wonderful walks.

That used to happen to Aaron at least once a week! We did exactly what you said with the warm wash cloth and massaging it. We'd leave the wash cloth on for about 5 minutes and then massage it for a few minutes. It was so sad because his eyes would get so goopy and they'd stick shut! But it never lasted more than a couple days. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteExpress some breast milk into a cup. Then use a dropper and put a few drops in her eyes from the outside edge (put it in her eye on the side away from the nose). This works for any type of eye problem (pink eye, sand or other foreign object in the eye, etc.). AND you can put it in as often as you like, unlike an antibiotic for pink eye.
ReplyDeleteBTW most breast feeding books will have an explanation of how to hand express milk, if you can't figure it out. You don't need much.
Breast milk is an AMAZING thing!
i love those polka dot ones, SO adorable on her, I think they look just right!
ReplyDeleteThis happened to Gracie once and our pediatrician recommended breast milk as well. It works!
ReplyDeleteSooooo cute! I love the shades!! Hope your eye feels better soon Ava!
