Sloane and Tess -16 months old

Tess is walking!!!!
Pictures of thes two are near impossible these days. Always wanting to move.
Sloane is so close to walking...not quite yet.
Tess girl is everywhere and she loves the fact that she can walk.
These two are still happy as ever.
They love their shoes, sisters and mom and dad.
Being outside and digging their fingers in the dirt comes before their love of family though. Dirt. Dirt. Dirt. They love it!
Rocks too. They love collecting rocks. It's actually how we got them to enjoy walking. "Go get the rock".

Sloane and Tess - 17 months old

Sloane is Walking!!!!
It's fun living a life with these two happy people in it. They are both walking now so it's adorable to say "let's go outside" and have these two toddle after me.
Tess is the BEST hugger. She can hold you so tight. When Sloane is laying on the floor getting her diaper changed Tess loves to come up and torture her her by laying on her, ticketing her face or trying to kiss her.
Sloane says: mommy, daddy, bye bye, wove you, and nigh nigh
Tess is the master at waving and loves to talk...but only Sloane understands her. They have fun conversations at the meal table.
These two just recently learned to give kisses but are quite selective on who they give them to...each other, dad and mom. Instead of smacking her lips to get a kiss sound Tess clicks her tongue.
They still love singing and dancing.
Sloane has an awesome arm and is so fun to play pass with.
Tess and Sloane, I look forward to going in your rooms each morning and seeing your smiling faces.
I love you Sloane.
I love you Tess.

Sloane and Tess - 15 months old

Tess and Sloane are such a fun pair. They interact with each other more and more. They have a connection that is Fun and beautiful to watch.
Tess is officially a stepper. She takes 3-5 steps at a time and loves to walk to out stretched arms.
On 8 July Sloane started walking holding mom's fingers. This is the first time we've gotten her to walk with any more help than just the balance.
Tess stopped nursing when we were on our trip to Idaho Falls for the Braithwaite family reunion.
Sloane is still going strong with her desire to nurse...not sure that the physical need is there but definitely the emotional.
On the 14th Sloane said the color purple

Sloane and Tess -14 months old

The scooter and the crawler make for a dirty happy life.
Tess loves to walk whenever someone is holding her hands. But will not venture off on her own with her walking skills.
Sloane got her third tooth just days after 13 months old and now she has a grand total of 4 teeth!
These two are pros at climbing up on things...couches, stairs and fire place and are slowly figuring out how to climb down. The prefer to wait for willing arms.
Tess is my big eater. There are very few things she won't eat.
Sloane on the other hand won't hesitate to glare at you, spit something out of her mouth into her hand, look at you while she chucks it on the ground. It's all very strategic in sending a message.
Sloane and Tess are very good at communicating. They are only just starting to throw tantrums when they don't get what they want.
As true one year olds they are very distractable when they do throw tantrums so it hasn't become a true trial...more like entertainment.
Wish I could spend all the hours in my days playing with and observing them in their adorable worlds.
Love you Tess and Sloane!

Sloane and Tess -13 months old

This babies are so fun! Lots of work but oh so much fun!
Sloane has been having a hard time not crying at night. She goes to sleep just fine but randomly wakes up crying. She still has two teeth with number three very close to the surface.
Tess is officially a mamas girl. She is not happy with other people around unless she is in moms arms. She loves headbands and tiaras on her head. She asks for help by handing mom the tiara and saying "eh eh?"
They look at and smile at each other more. They enjoy yanking on each others hair and taking toys away.
Sloane is getting more into dancing with us all. She's got some sweet arm movements. She loves music time where we sing "slippery fish" and she can crawl around at her leisure and join in when she wants.
Tess still won't crawl unless mom holds her knees down and makes her. It's scooting and monkey crawl all the way for this girl.
They are officially down to one nap a day. Mom ends up at the park pushing them in the swing or pushing them around outside in the stroller. Some days have more tears then others. We are hopping this will help to make Sunday's more pleasant...we'll see.
Love my Sloane and her "surprised" face and my Tess with her sneaky smile.

Sloane and Tess - 1 year old

We all look forward to hearing the happy sounds and squeaks that emanate from their room to signify they are awake. To walk in the room to big smiles and happy bounces are the best part of my day. Considering it still happens three times a day. Two nap times and 4 feedings make for busy days.
I love that these two cuties will help you put their coats on. They will stick out their arms and reach back to try to slip their little arms in easier. So sweet!
These two got a lot of toys for their birthday but they still love sucking on shoes. Doesn't matter who the shoe belongs to. They do prefer flip flops though.
Tess now has SIX teeth. It all happened so fast. She still won't crawl but loves to sit upright and bounce along with her feet pulling her. She also now has a funny upright crawl thing like Lacey did.
Sloane has been fine sharing her kissing lips. She is our master crawler and likes to "stand up" on her knees.
We have been working on blowing on hot food and they are both pretty good. When it came time to blowing out their birthday candle they could not apply their blowing knowledge to the new and exciting setting...with an actual flame.
Their personalities are really coming out. They are such teasers and genuinely happy little people.
They eat just about everything. They like anything that is salty, sweet or has a new texture.
Both Sloan and Tess continue to enjoy music and dancing to a read them. They seem to be getting used to church and the fact that they have to take naps in mom and dad's arms.

Sloane and Tess - 11 months old

Just this week Tess has learned to go from her stomach to her butt in the seated position. Quite the accomplishment! She has an adorable army crawl where she pulls herself across the floor to reach the object of her desire.

Sloane is officially a fast moving crawler. She gets those hands and little hips going and she can move so fast across the floor.

Standing is Tess' favorite position. You can stand her up against something that she can lean her back on and she can stay there for a good long time.

Eating continues to be an adventure with these two. I have introduced dairy such as yogurt and cottage cheese. They both love cottage cheese now. But because of their new interest in these foods they no longer like other foods they have been used to eating. They both love eating frozen peas. Straight out of the freezer.
